My Story
Comedy discovered Lena in 1997. From the initial connection with the free-spirited, frolic filled festivity until now, the relationship has been nothing less than scintillating.
Lena is a graduate of the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor; she majored in side-spitting, hard hitting shows, but received her degree in Sociology. Subsequently, her manifold educational and cultural experiences contribute to the diverse, provocative, insightful, yet expletive free performances. With the determination of a comedic soldier, Lena engineered and founded Crying Laughter Productions an organization committed to promoting higher education through comedy.
The Flint, Michigan native has performed on a multitude of stages in front of varied age, racial, and social groups. Comedy is one of the very special and universal gifts that Lena offers to us all however, her gifts extend far beyond those gifts that she presents on the comedy stage. She is also an actress, writer, director, and educator. She has written and directed three plays and as a result of her comedic talents was asked to appear as a guest lecturer at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
